Should your child be absent from school, please contact the attendance office by phone (856-869-7750 x7188) or email (hths-attendance@htsd.us) as soon as possible. The attendance office requires written documentation for all student absences. Documentation can be provided via email or a paper note, which can be brought in upon the students' return to school.
Absences from school fall into one of three categories:
- Approved - Documentation is provided from a doctor or medical professional, court, DMV, or regarding a college visit or death in the family. Administration reserves the right to approve (or not approve) all absences.
- Excused - Documentation provided by a parent.
- Unexcused - No documentation provided. Unexcused absences will default to a truancy after two days and the student will be subject to disciplinary consequences.
